Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) Requirements - Elevator Safety Review

A licensee must attest on the license renewal form that the licensee has completed all applicable CPC requirements set forth by the last day of the month preceding the month in which the licensee's individual license is required to be renewed for the following two-year licensing term.

Audits

Each license renewal application is subject to audit by the Board. The Board, at its discretion, may audit randomly selected licensees to verify compliance with CPC requirements. Licensees who are audited must provide any additional information documentation required by the Board to complete the audit.

Failure to respond to or comply with an audit may result in disciplinary action. It is the responsibility of each licensee to fulfill the continuing education requirements. A licensee must complete a minimum of eight CPC units before renewing a license. Acceptable CPC units must be taken between the effective date of the license and the licensee's renewal date.

Failure to Meet CPC Requirements

In the event a licensee fails to comply with CPC requirements, the Board, subject to the hearing provisions of Public Safety Article §12-838, Annotated Code of Maryland, may take disciplinary action pursuant to Public Safety Article., §12-837, Annotated Code of Maryland.
