Task Force to Study School Bus Operator Contracts and Wages - Maryland Department of Labor
School bus drivers are an important part in ensuring the safety and well-being of students within a community. Counties throughout Maryland are facing significant shortages of school bus drivers, which has led to challenges and potential disruptions in student attendance and safety.
During the 2023 Legislative Session, the Maryland General Assembly passed Senate Bill 491(CH. 790), entitled “Charles County - Task Force to Study School Bus Operator Contracts and Wages.” This bill establishes the Task Force to Study School Bus Operator Contracts and Wages in Charles County.
Administrative support for the Commission is provided by the Maryland Department of Labor.
