Civic Participation and Community Action Sourcebook
Twenty stories about civic participation are included that cover a range of issues, from finding a class project and goal setting to meeting with legislators and advocating for adult education funding. Preparation activities accompany each article. The source book also contains a "webliography" and an appendix of human rights and civics documents.

EL/Civics Online
A unique professional development opportunity for ESL instructors and volunteers who wish to incorporate EL/Civics content into their adult ESL classrooms. This series of free of online courses will assist teachers in creating interesting, effective ESL lessons in these areas: U.S. history, U.S. government, nationalization process, and civic engagement.

National Standards for Civic Education
The site focuses on civics instruction in K–12 contexts. It is also useful to teachers of adult English language learners both for its detailed overview of the rationale behind civics instruction and for its clearly organized outlines of specific areas of civics content.

Project-based Learning and Assessment Resource Manual
