GED® Testing in Maryland - Adult Education and Literacy Services
GED® test takers in Maryland may now register to take the Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) test in Spanish. Test takers who experience difficulties in registering for the RLA test in Spanish should contact GED® Customer Service at 1-877-EXAM-GED (877-392-6433).

GED® General Information
- Visit the GED Testing Service website for information about the GED® test, registration, scheduling and other resources.
- ATTENTION: Test Centers will not accept expired documents as Identification for in-person or remote testing. Current documents must verify identity and MD residency.
- Securely monitored remote Online Proctored GED® tests (OP) for qualified testers 18 years old and older.
- All applicants under 18 years of age must provide proof of official school withdrawal or verification of home instruction.

- A Maryland High School Diploma is awarded to those passing all four modules of the GED® tests.
Test takers must apply the Maryland Subsidy Discount Code offered to all Maryland testers for the first attempt of each module. This code reduces the cost of the first attempt from $36.00 to $14.25 per module for in-person testing and Online Proctored (OP) testing. The MD Discount Code is MDGED2175.
Maryland 4th & Goal Program
The Maryland Department of Labor is proud to present the 4th & Goal Program, an initiative designed to support learners who have completed three GED® tests with only one more to go on the way to a Maryland High School Diploma. Specifically, 4th and Goal offers short-term assistance for classes and tutoring and for covering the costs of practice tests and the fourth and final exam.
