Notice to the Public
      All electrical work in Maryland must be performed by a licensed  Master, Journeyperson, or Apprentice Electrician. Apprentices  must be supervised at all times by a licensed Master or Journeyperson and may  not perform work independently.
Unlicensed electrical  work is illegal.
      Violations may result in fines of up to $5,000,  imprisonment, or both.

Do You Need To…
- Request a Letter       of Good Standing
 For license verification in another state or for employment purposes.
- Get a Copy of       Your License
 Request a duplicate or replacement license.
- Change Your       Address or Legal Name
 Update your personal contact or legal information.
- Change License       Status
 Switch between active, inactive, or uninsured status.
- Update or Assign a  Company
 Add, remove, or change your company assignment.
Use Labor’s Central Scheduling System to meet with a representative from one of our boards or commissions. Please select the type of appointment you need from our list of available in-person services using the drop-down menu on the scheduler. You will receive an e-mail confirming the date and time of your appointment.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at our offices located at 100 S. Charles Street, Tower I, Baltimore, MD 21201. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early before your scheduled appointment time.
Insurance Requirements – Electricians
To hold an Electrician’s License in Maryland, applicants must carry: General Liability Insurance: at least $300,000 Property Damage Insurance: at least $100,000 (Umbrella coverage is not acceptable)

State of Maryland – State Board of Electricians 100 S. Charles St, Tower I, Baltimore, MD 21201
Policy must list the licensee’s name and registration number. Insurer must notify the Board 10 days before cancellation.
