License Fees - Maryland Racing Commission
The completion of an application is a required to obtain a license.
Thoroughbred License Fees:
Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers will have to continue to pay the Jockey Fund of $100.00 for each license.
- Original Trainer (Must include Certificate of Workers' Compensation Insurance Information with Application)
Note - If you have never been licensed in the State of Maryland as a trainer, you must receive your license at a track. - Stable/Corp. Name (Anyone who owns 5% or more interest must have an owner's license)
Harness License Fees (No payment required) - We offer the option of a 1 or 3 year license(s):
- Trainer (Must include Certificate of Workers' Compensation Insurance Information with Application)

PLEASE MAKE ALL CHECKS PAYABLE TO THE MARYLAND RACING COMMISSION
(If you are paying for multiple licenses you only need one check for all licenses.)
Before mailing, be sure to:
- Complete the application (Word) and make sure you list your trainer (1st page) as well as the name you will be racing under (first line, 2nd page) (see Sample Application).
- Sign and date your application.
- Application and payment (if required) are included in the envelope.
