OD 23-013 Trainer Megan Roberts, for being the trainer of record on sample #E550584 taken from BUCKEYE N in the 5th race on July 9th, 2023 at Ocean Downs, was found to contain the drug Gabapentin. As a result, Roberts is fined $1000.00 and must forfeit all purse monies. Additionally, she will be issued a 15-day full suspension from August 8th, 2023 through August 23rd, 2023. During this suspension, she and all horses trained and/or owned by her are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. BUCKEYE N finished 1st and was placed 7th, and also will be placed on the steward’s list from August 8th, 2023 through August 22nd, 2023 as well. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, and all purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance.

As a result, Andrews is fined $1500.00 and must forfeit all purse monies. Additionally, he will be issued a 60-day full suspension from August 20th, 2023 through October 18th, 2023. During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. SLICK FELLA finished 1st and was placed 8th, and also will be placed on the steward’s list from August 20th, 2023 through October 18th, 2023 as well. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, and all purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance.
