August 3, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-013

Driver Jonathan Roberts is fined $100.00 for failing to keep both feet in the stirrups while driving WHIMSICAL in the 11th race on July 30th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(6)

August 4, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-014

Driver Russell Foster is fined $100.00 for excessive use of the whip in the stretch while driving FREDERICKTOWN LAD in the 4th race on August 3rd, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.03.33.A(9)(a)

August 5, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-015

Driver Corey Callahan is fined $200.00 for failing to drive when programmed on three programmed drives ($100.00 for 1st drive, $50.00 for every other drive) on the August 5th, 2025 program at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.41C

Ruling: OD 25-016

Driver Pat Berry is fined $100.00 for failing to drive when programmed on one drive on the August 5th, 2025 race program at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.41C

August 10, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-017

Driver Jacob Roglitz is fined $100.00 for failing to keep a line in each hand, using a taunting motion, while driving BROOKLETS DESIRE in the 13th race on August 6th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33A(6)(a)

August 11, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-018

Investigative barn and truck/trailer searches were conducted at Ocean Downs on August 4th, 2025. During these searches, marijuana was discovered and confiscated belonging to licensee Kevin Walters, which is prohibited on all property under jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. As a result, Walters is fined $250.00. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. August 18, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-019

Owner Tammy Lafferty is fined $500.00 for improper conduct towards the Maryland Racing Commission state veterinarian. After her horse FREDERICKTOWN LAD was scratched from the 3rd race post parade at Ocean Downs on August 10th, 2025, Lafferty approached the state veterinarian in an aggressive and threatening manner. According to eyewitness accounts, she used abusive and insulting language. Her actions are detrimental to the best interests of harness racing. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.03.03.A(7)

August 18, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-020

Trainer Francisco Del Cid was the trainer of record on horse LUNA LANDING in the 4th race on August 4th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E636000 taken from LUNA LANDING identified the presence of Methocarbamol at a concentration of 1.65 ng/mL+-0.13 ng/mL. The threshold for this controlled therapeutic medication is 1 pg/mL. As a result, Del Cid is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, LUNA LANDING is disqualified, finishing first and placed seventh. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. 1/2 Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) points assessed.

August 24, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-021

Trainer Courtney Foster was the trainer of record on horse DOO WOP BOBBY in the 13th race on July 29th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. Post-race analysis of urine sample #E635961 taken from DOO WOP BOBBY identified the presence of Scopolamine. As a result, Foster is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, DOO WOP BOBBY is disqualified, finishing first and placed eighth. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. One Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) point assessed.

August 26, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-022

Maryland Racing Commission licensee Jarell Weston is indefinitely suspended for failing a human drug test on July 27th, 2025, testing positive for marijuana (THC). In order for his Maryland Racing Commission license to be restored to good standing, Weston must submit a negative human drug test to a Maryland Racing Commission representative. COMAR: 09.10.03.05.F(2)(a)

August 27, 2025 Ocean Downs
Ruling: OD 25-023

Driver Cory Mumford is suspended from driving for three days (August 26th, 2025 through August 28th, 2025) for carrying out horse BROWER in the stretch while driving SLIGHTLY MIGHTY in the 2nd race on August 25th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. SLIGHTLY MIGHTY finished 3rd and was placed fourth. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(1)(f)
