In the first race at Timonium Race Track on September 2, 2024, horse #6 “Ariel Moon”, ridden by Jockey J. G. Torrealba was disqualified from first position and placed second. Heading into the far turn, the #6 “Ariel Moon” ridden by J. G. Torrealba came over into the path of #5 “Doris’ Slayin It” ridden by jockey Jean Alvelo, without sufficient clearance, forcing him to sharply check to avoid clipping heels.

Outside the 1/8th pole #9 “Max Swagger” in about the 3 path drifts toward the rail and #7 “Contempt” ridden by jockey Jorge Ruiz had to check sharply and alter course to avoid clipping heels with #9.

In the matter of Stable employee William Anderson: On September 14, 2024 Mr. Anderson was requested to deliver urine sample by the MRC Investigators. The specimen he rendered tested positive for Marijuana and cocaine.

COMAR 09.10.03.05 A(1)(a)(i).

A hearing was held on September 14, 2024. Based upon the testimony and evidence presented at the hearing, the Stewards found William Anderson in violation of COMAR 09.10.03.05 Drug Prohibition-Humans.

Accordingly, the Stewards hereby order:
(1) That the license issued to William Anderson be suspended until such time as he has been professionally evaluated and deemed not a detriment to racing. [COMAR 09.10.03.05, F(1)].
(2) That while he is under suspension, Mr. Anderson will not be allowed to work on the backside.

In the fourth race at Laurel Park on September 20, 2024, horse #6 “Lady Charlotte”, ridden by Jockey Jevian Toledo was disqualified from second position and placed third. Coming out of the mile chute, the #6 “Lady Charlotte” ridden by Jevian Toledo drifted in towards the inside and into the path of #5 “Solving Progress” ridden by Jorge Ruiz, forcing that horse to clip heels and stumble and then alter course to the outside of #6.

“It shall be the sole responsibility of the trainer to see that his or her owner’s colors are in the jockey’s quarters to be used for his or her respective entries, failure to do so, the trainer will be subject to fine”.

In the matter of the fifth race at Laurel Park on September 22, 2024, regarding the Official result.

On September 24, 2024, trainer, W. Robert Bailes filed an appeal with the Maryland Racing Commission. The appeal contests the Stewards' decision to not disqualify the horse “Lord of Mischief” from second position.

As a result of that appeal, the fifth race on September 22, 2024, is hereby declared in dispute and the following ordered to remain in effect until the dispute has been settled by the Maryland Racing Commission:

The purse monies affected by the dispute are to be held by the Horsemen's Bookkeeper.

The order of finish;

  1. 1st Mine the Gold
  2. 2nd Lord of Mischief
  3. 3rd Pilote Comete
  4. 4th Beaver State
