Joann knows that it’s never too late to achieve new career goals!
If there is one thing Maryland’s Adult Literacy programs prove, it is that it is never too late to set and pursue new career goals. Joann Godwin-Raheem is a great case-in-point. Joann had worked for 35 years in the healthcare industry when she decided she wanted to pursue a new career pathway, one that required her to gain new skills and assume new responsibilities. She cleared the first hurdle towards meeting her goals by earning her Maryland High School Diploma. With her diploma in hand, Joann plans to continue her education in the field of Surgical Technology. She began her fall courses at the Community College of Baltimore County, Owings Mills Campus, on September 13th, 2022. Joann encourages learners to persevere and to persist in striving to realize their dreams, advising others to, “Focus on your goals and success will come!”
