Cyber Maryland
Positioning Maryland to be a leading Cyber ecosystem
Cyber Maryland is an ambitious program designed to:- expand Maryland’s talent pipeline in cyber, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology (IT), and related fields;
- connect talent with employers;
- serve as a hub for state workforce development programs in cyber; and
- coordinate cyber and research innovation in the state.
Maryland has a uniquely expansive cyber ecosystem – shaped by the presence of the NSA, NIST, and other critical federal agencies, as well as a robust private sector. With these employers combined, the Maryland-DC area has the second highest demand for cyber jobs in the nation – over three times the national average.
Cyber Maryland will help address workforce vacancies to meet this demand across the state. This program became part of the Maryland Department of Labor in 2025, following the passage of SB867.
