** The State of Emergency was declared in Maryland on March 5, 2020. Regular unemployment insurance claimants who became unemployed after that date have begun to exhaust their 26 weeks of benefits and become eligible for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) benefits. This is reflected in the increase in PEUC claimants reported in these claim numbers.
